About me

The tools of the the artisan jeweler behing Nimble Witch Jewelry Creationsn jeweler behind Nimble Witch Jewelry Creations

Welcome! So happy you’re here!

If I am to tell you “About Me”, then I should start with how “Nimble Witch” became the name of my graphic design company and later, my online jewelry shop. Spoiler alert — I am not a witch! I hope that you’re not disappointed. I do practice magic as all artists do!

Art has always been part of my life – generally not as a reliable source of income because it rarely pays well. That being said, I had a very successful decorative art business for a time. Oh well. More on that here

I was married to a career Navy man, so every 3 years, I had to re-start my life. New friends, new job, new business but then he retired and a whole new world was in front of me. This is when I started my decorative art company doing murals and decorative plasters on high-end custom homes. And there were a lot of them here in Central Florida! Then came the Great Recession!

Next part of “new” — I studied fine art years ago and I decided to go back to college to study digital graphic design which I loved! I mean Photoshop is powerful magic!

Web design was part of the curriculum. I found it was very challenging. Learning and writing HTML and CSS code is a nightmare. But when you finally get it right, you click a button and before your eyes all those numbers, letters, and symbols become images and words all laid out in the exact format you envisioned. In all the years I painted and sketched, I never felt anything quite like that. So, in homage to that strange magic, I named my graphic design company Nimble Witch Creative.

During this time, my daughter was dabbling in wire working and beading jewelry in beautiful designs. But I heard about A jewelry fabrication class was being taught locally and I was all over it.

In 2016, when I took my handmade jewelry from hobby to pro, I thought the name was equally appropriate and magical. There you have it.
